Remember The Present — It’s Now or Never

When we remember the present we give ourselves a gift. Remembering the present allows us to forget the pain and struggle of the past that no longer exists.Remember The Present

The past is just a memory and the future is not here, so our power and effectiveness exist right now. It is what we choose to do with this power that determines the results in our lives.

Remember The Present — It’s Easy to Forget

It is utterly amazing that it is so very easy to “forget” to remain in the present moment. We take it for granted that we are there because we are alive and moving about. But that is not necessarily the case at all.

A little examination of our minds would reflect a much different scenario. The majority of our time is focused on the past and the future.

Regrets about the past and hopes and worries about what may happen down the line inhabit the majority of our thinking. It is only those times when we are extremely focused on a task or project that we are centered and in the present. When we lose that focus is when mistakes and errors occur.

Spending time to remember the present is not only time well spent but it enables us to get things done in a much more efficient and effective manner. We also experience less stress, strain, and overwhelm.

Determining What to Forget

Even though it is so easy to forget to stay present, it is much harder to forget the past and future. But that is how we can access and maintain our true power in life.

We do not forget our past and future worries by denying they exist, but by confronting our pains, traumas, and uncertainties, recognizing them for what they truly are, and then “allowing” them to dissolve into their innate nothingness.

We then realize that the only power that they ever had was the power that we gave them. And this power was based on fear. Once we begin to unravel this puzzle we experience a tremendous amount of relief and inner peace.

Innovative Ways to Remember the Present

In order to get the true benefit of our innate power and abilities, it is important to be focused entirely on the present moment. This allows us to do things in a specific way that maximizes our effectiveness.

When our attention is scattered we are unable to provide the needed attention to detail that is required to obtain world-class results. With the proper focus and attention, we get the most out of the present moment as things naturally fall into place as we make needed adjustments along the way.

We can remind ourselves to stay present merely by asking, “am I present now”, and this will knock us out of any stray past/future thoughts. This simple phrase is extremely effective in doing just that. It is in fact the entryway into our innate powerhouse.

Also, asking “what’s wrong with now” will make it apparently clear that everything is okay regardless of whatever fear thoughts we may be entertaining. This question also reveals any limiting beliefs as they will surface as excuses or justifications for what may be occurring.

What all of this does is to clean house a bit so we can obtain the peace of mind necessary to increase the time that we spend in the now. This takes some persistence and focus but amazing things occur as our awareness increases.

Do Yourself a Favor: Remember the PresentRemember The Present

We can all do ourselves a big favor by remembering the present moment. That is where all of our gifts reside from which we bless ourselves with our innate power and excellence. There really is nowhere to go and nothing to get. It all resides right here and now within ourselves.

This may sound a bit mystical and airy-fairy but it contains the seed of our freedom and happiness. It may confuse us a bit because of its utter simplicity, but its genuine message will set us free to be who we really are.

As we remember the present, we remember who it is we really are, and then we are able to forget the false sense of self that we constructed over time based on a lot of misconceptions and “borrowed knowledge”. It is much easier to keep things the same than to question our current conditioning and beliefs.

We take so much for granted without questioning whether what we believe is true or not. This reminds me of a story that I heard some time ago about a woman preparing a ham for a holiday feast and she cut off both ends of the ham. Her daughter asked her why she did that, and her mom said she didn’t know so they called grandma. It turned out that grandma did it so it could fit into the pan that she had and it had nothing to do with the actual preparation of the meal as the mother had thought.

This is just a small example of how we go through life thinking one thing and having it actually be something different. When we get back to asking “why” as we did as a child, we open up a treasure cove of new possibilities.

A Poem to Inspire

I’d like to finish up here with a poem that I will now create to bring out the essence of this message. I use poetry in my Intuitive Counseling & Consulting work to reveal and inspire based on the knowledge we possess but are not focusing on. Poetry helps to change our focus and allows the inspiration to flow.

Let’s ask a question and then use intuitive poetry to bypass the old conditioning and reveal the wisdom that resides within us all.

* How can I best remember the present moment?

Beyond Concepts: Remember the Present

Letting go of all the Old Stuff

Since none of it makes any sense

Let’s focus on what’s real

And avoid the nonsense

Remembering first

That concepts aren’t real

And what matters most

Is what we Feel

The present is Now

And certainly a Gift

Let’s accept and receive

No need to be miffed

An opening occurs

Without the Old Stuff

Revealing a Path

That is totally enough

Not knowing is good

Most definitely a Key

We can now remember the Present

It’s no Mystery!

Spend some time reflecting on what you most desire and allow your thoughts to flow. Beyond all concepts of what we think we are, and of what we think we are capable, there exists an inner power and intuitive self that we have merely forgotten existed. It’s time to remember this, and there’s no better time than Now.

Embrace the journey within and without,

  1. This is something we must all live by. The past is in the pasta and you need to focus on what’s important, and that is the hear and now.

Stop dwelling on what happened yesterday, you have got today to make it right and smash any goals that you might have today.

    Great post!
