Discover Power Within

To discover power within we must be willing to let go of all that we erroneously believed about ourselves, others, and the world. In other words, it’s time to clean house.

Discover Power Within

Let’s not only uncover ways to accomplish this, but also the reason why this is so important. Instead of looking for ways to improve and increase, let’s find ways to undo and let go.

To Discover Power Within Understand the Responsibility

“The greater the power, the more dangerous the abuse.”

— Edmund Burke —

Many times we are so focused on “getting” that we not only forget about “giving”, but even more importantly the responsibility we have when we receive. It’s the acceptance of this responsibility that opens the gates to what we deserve and desire.

When we are responsible for what we receive we become aware that there is no difference at all between giving and receiving. We gladly give as we understand that lack of any kind doesn’t even exist when we are aligned with our power within.

It requires this type of mindset to tap our power so that we use what we have and what we receive responsibly. Otherwise, we will create many challenges for ourselves along the way.

There are so many examples down through history of abuse of power. This doesn’t even equate to the tremendous power we possess, and once it is tapped it requires the utmost integrity to be a proper steward of this power.

This is a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. As we progress we become aware of our true potential involving our abilities and strengths.

Ways to Discover our Inner Power

  • Belief in Self — once our beliefs are aligned with our true Essence or Self we are able to connect with our inner power.
  • Increase Self Awareness — being centered in the present moment automatically increases awareness of self which then extends to tapping into our enormous power reserve.
  • Emphasis on Life Purpose — we each have a special function in this lifetime along with the abilities and gifts to bring it about. Discovering our purpose aligns us with our power source.
  • Housecleaning — eliminating erroneous beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world relieves us of a great burden that is filled with fear and stress. It also creates the space needed to allow our inner power to flow through.
  • Recognize the Illusion of Fear — even though it is merely a false idea, when backed by belief it is very real and detrimental to us. Just being aware of this inspires us to question our fears as to their true cause.
  • Meaningful Goals — when our goals are aligned with our life purpose they are heartfelt and based on high ideals and motives. We then can proceed with confidence that we are making a positive difference in the lives of others.
  • Take Inspired Action — once we have cleaned house and rid ourselves of the excess baggage, we are now positioned to take inspired action based on our intuitive urges and insights.

Discover Power Within All Life

“In the stillness of your presence, you can feel your own formless and timeless reality as the unmanifested life that animates your physical form. You can then feel the same life deep within every other human and every other creature. You look beyond the veil of form and separation. This is the realization of oneness. This is love.”

— Eckhart Tolle —

As we discover the power within ourselves it becomes blatantly evident that we are not alone and separate from all life. There is a unity that exists regardless of our being aware of it.

As our awareness increases by spending more time in the present moment and eliminating false beliefs and perceptions, we become more in touch with our essence and realize that we are connected to everything. This must be experienced and not only understood.

This is a spiritual and philosophical concept that pinpoints the interdependence and interconnectivity of all forms of life. Many spiritual traditions speak of this such as in Hinduism, Buddhism, and other spiritual practices.

“All differences in this world are of degree, and not of kind, because oneness is the secret of everything.”

— Swami Vivekananda —

It is impossible to connect with our inner power sources without being blatantly aware of this union. Humans, animals, plants, and inanimate objects all originate from one energy source or life force. Quantum physics has proven this as science and spirituality merge.

“Quantum physics thus reveals a basic oneness of the universe.’

— Erwin Schrodinger —

When we discover our power within and connect with the Life Force we naturally express empathy, compassion, and reverence for all forms of life. We are also sensitive to how the experiences of one aspect of life affect us all.

Discover Power Within the Present Moment

Discover Power Within

“The point of power is always in the present moment.”

— Louise Hay —

Since there is nowhere else but right here, right now, it seems foolish to try to discover our inner power anywhere else. Discover power within where it is to be found, and not where we pretend it to be.

When we pretend, it is always because we are focused on the outside where our perceptions come into view. We become hypnotized by the outer and ignore the inner.

This disempowers our ability to use our power effectively as we are operating under false premises. It’s the same as asking for what we don’t want, and then complaining that we didn’t get what we do want.

With a little clarity this all becomes vividly apparent. That’s why it’s essential to do the mental and emotional housecleaning so that the cloud cover is removed and .then we can see clearly.

Otherwise, we are operating in the dark and bumping into the furniture in the room comprised of our erroneous and limiting beliefs. It’s not easy to discover power within when we don’t even realize it exists.

To bring about the constructive change necessary to discover power within, we must remain centered in the present moment to become aware of and then utilize this power constructively.

Our power is not in the past or future. When our focus is there we are caught up in our past conditioning. This will only replicate the past in the future.

When we are in the now, and remain there long enough to focus and pay attention to our thoughts and feelings, we can then implement the changes necessary to create a paradigm that empowers us moment-to-moment.

Becoming Responsible

“Just imagine becoming the way you used to be as a very young child, before you understood the meaning of any word, before opinions took over your mind. The real you is loving, joyful, and free. The real you is just like a flower, just like the wind, just like the ocean, just like the sun.”

— Don Miguel Ruiz —

When we are willing to allow ourselves the freedom to be Who we truly Are we naturally accept responsibility for everything in our lives. We don’t shy away from our mistakes, and we don’t downplay our successes.

At this point, we are aligned with our values and purpose which empowers us to make significant progress by benefiting all with whom we come into contact. The power within radiates out creating a path for many to follow.

Let’s discover power within by accepting the present moment and operating from that point of power. We now have removed enough cloud cover to responsibly handle this power.

I envision a world of abundance and peace coming into view. Actually, it exists right this very moment just awaiting our vision to clear.

Let’s begin by discovering our power within and helping others to do the same.

  1. Your article raises some great points that are not always easy to hear, especially when we are in a place of denial. what I ‘heard’ here, is that we…I…am accountable for my own actions, thoughts and behaviors, not yours. By being accountable, I am able to be more responsible for how I relate to situations, and to act rather than to ‘react’.

Your quotes from various sources made me smile – I too follow Eckhart Tolle, Don Miguel Ruiz, and Louise Hay, to name a few.

Too often we stray from the path on enlightenment, and this post is a gentle reminder to get back on track.  What do you suggest for someone to get started with looking inwards, for some self-reflection?

    • Thanks for your thoughts and insights, Rudy. When beginning the inner journey spend some time reflecting on our lives without judgment and observe how we think and feel toward certain people, things, and circumstances. While being patient with ourselves over time we will discover our underlying core beliefs and then be able to “consciously” choose to keep or let them go based on whether they are serving our well-being and inner truth. All the Best, Joseph

  2. Hello,
It is a bit the story of my life, discovering my power within, as I have always been insecure if I can accomplish something.
I like the quote from Louise Hay, I have lots of her books, for a long time, but I definitely should reread them and tell myself I’m worth success!
Accepting this very moment is a very nice tip as well, thank you for the insights!

    • Thanks, Lizzy. Your thoughts are much appreciated. The part of you who knows you deserve success and much more is just waiting for your other part to join the party. The truth is the truth whether or not we choose to embrace it. Spending time in the present moment will reveal this. All the very Best, Joseph

  3. I love this article, Joseph, and I am proud to say I know every one of those quotes. I was in Mexico during covid and relly wanted to stay in one of Ruiz Toltec communities. Sadly they were all closed, which says a lot about fear.

    I also love
“Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.’
    –Marie Curie

One of the hardest things I have chosen to learn in this life is to accept responsibility and face up to who and what I really am. A lot of shadow work has been involved as well. The end result I have come to a place of inner peace. Mostly because I have realized that external validation is worthless. I have all of the power and knowledge of the Universe within me. Thank you for this beautiful reminder.

It encourages us to shift our focus from seeking improvement and acquisition to letting go and accepting responsibility for what we receive. By recognizing our unity with all living beings and staying present, we can discover our true power and live with integrity, ultimately creating a world filled with peace and abundance.
