How to win at life is a common topic in many circles, but a deeper analysis will reveal that what we assume is winning may well be some of our greatest losses. As with many things in life, this is a paradox that will benefit us greatly to resolve.
All of the glitter and many symbols of success lack the substance to produce a victory that is sustainable and worthwhile in terms of our happiness and joy. Quite often we discover that we have given up what we most cherish in pursuing meaningless symbols.
“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
How to Win at Life in Meaningful Ways
In order to gain any true satisfaction we much produce value for ourselves and others. It is meaningless in the long run to strive endlessly for the symbols of success only to learn later of their inability to satisfy our most sought-after need for inner peace and joy.
Producing this value requires that we have clarity on our true purpose in life as well as the means to attain that purpose. When that is in place we have gained the understanding of “why” we are doing or pursuing certain objectives and goals.
This frees us up to act with abandon toward these objectives with the certainty, not of the exact steps to take which will be revealed as we move forward, but with the certainty that our purpose is in alignment with our true values.
A Few Steps to Take in Creating a Meaningful Life
- Get clear on what success really means to us so that we can define our goals that are aligned with our values and priorities
- Build a mindset that is oriented toward growth, dealing with resistance, accepting challenges, learning from our failures, and always being willing to improve
- Make decisions based on an awareness of our strengths and weaknesses and learn to respond appropriately to challenges and not react emotionally to roadblocks and necessary detours
- Build strong relationships with all like-minded people who support our goals. Eliminate negativity from our lives.
- Create a healthy lifestyle with exercise, diet, relaxation, good sleep patterns, managing/eliminating stress, and spending time in nature
- Continue to learn on a daily basis in all areas of our lives so we can easily adapt to the constant change in our personal and business lives
- Enjoy the present moment and appreciate all that we have now as well as all that is on its way to us. Have a deep sense of gratitude for the gift of life and all the wonderful people whose lives we are honored to touch.
- Laugh often and have a sense of humor at all the models of insanity by which we are surrounded. See beyond the obvious to the truth in every situation and become solution-focused.
- Stay aligned consistently with our principles, values, and positive core beliefs
- Realize giving and receiving are the same and be generous with our time in mentoring, volunteering, and other contributions to others and our community.
- Manage our time in ways where we complete all high-priority tasks first regardless of any resistance, and only set time limits on our productivity tasks and not on our overall objectives and dreams that require more flexibility as time goes on
- Never quit. Our persistence, perseverance, and resiliency are needed to accomplish anything worthwhile as we make progress on a gradual basis and grow stronger with increased wisdom
How To Win At Life and Not Regret Our Journey
It is so easy to get caught up with the symbols of success and think that we are happy when we are only pretending to be so. Over time this becomes apparent when the thrill is gone and we are left with a feeling of emptiness and wanting more.
Not until we understand that nothing outside of ourselves will fill this gap with the joy and happiness we desire will we be able to obtain the type of awareness necessary to create true success in our lives.
Winning and losing are meaningless when we are trapped on a spinning wheel similar to a hamster in a cage. The faster we go the more frustrated we get.
The solution is an understanding that there is nowhere to go and nothing to get because we have it all now. Our thoughts and mindset are the only things preventing us from seeing this.
We have become conditioned to feel “less than” rather than “more than” and to be unaware of our constant spinning around in circles. Once we truly see and understand this we are prepared to make constructive changes that will eliminate the cloud cover to our brilliance and genius.
The Power of Decision
“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.”
All of this is only a decision away and requires just a little bit of willingness on our part to break free. At that point, all the support and guidance are provided by the universe as now we are in alignment rather than running around in a chaotic fashion.
All of the power within ourselves is useless and used in needless ways based on false perceptions and limiting beliefs that do not serve us when we are not consciously aware. Our awareness allows us to use our power of decision constructively that benefits ourselves and others.
When things are not working well for us we can decide to make appropriate changes by assessing the situation, doing some research, and waiting for our Marching Orders through intuitive insights. At this point, we are utilizing our power in a way that empowers us to get stuff done effectively and efficiently.
I encourage all to spend some time reflecting on what it really means to win at life in ways that produce the joy and happiness that we all desire and deserve. There is no one else that can do this for us and save the day so to speak.
We have all the power necessary to transform our lives in ways that will utterly amaze us. Let’s enjoy this process that removes the cloud cover to our ultimate freedom and joy.
In Peace & Love within the Light,
Joseph William
