Happy retirement wishes are expressed whenever a person retires. These are expressed as happy retirement messages from friends, family, clients, and co-workers, and even strangers upon hearing about our new status.
Although this type of expression is to be appreciated it is often accepted with mixed feelings by the person who receives them. Let’s explore this a bit and see what we can discover.
Retirement is meant to be a New Beginning and not an ending of any sort. New possibilities open up as we complete another stage of our lives.
Are We Really Ready to Retire?
“The trouble with retirement is that you never get a day off.” — Abe Lemons —
Many people will give this a definite “yes”. After many years of effort and dedication to their respective type of work, they are most definitely ready to call it quits. But this is by no means the case for all.
Some may hang on for financial reasons, while others enjoy the business as well as social aspects of their career. In my case, I left in order to gain time freedom although I enjoyed my position immensely and do miss my clients and co-workers. In fact, I have been even encouraged to return.
Also, in my particular case, I am semi-retired as I prepared for a digital marketing career while still employed full-time. Those extra few hours a week have paid huge dividends in many ways, especially in staying fully engaged in life while having the time to enjoy activities with family and friends.
Although some people are forced to retire because of age or other reasons, there are always options available to re-invent ourselves and look at retirement as a New Beginning and not an end.
In any event, let’s retire for the right reasons so that the happy retirement wishes that come our way can be welcomed and treasured.
Happy Retirement Wishes — A Few Messages
When we retire we desire to have a happy lifestyle. The best happy retirement gift can be happy retirement wishes and messages that come straight from our hearts. Here are a few of my favorites thanks to Michelle Parkerton on Parade.com:

- Now that you reached your goal you can spend more time contemplating the meaning of life and all those other questions you’ve been too busy to answer. Congrats on your retirement!

Happy Retirement Wishes — Staying Fully Engaged in Life
The best wishes we can offer anyone at retirement or any stage in their lives is to pursue their passions while appreciating and enjoying each moment of their lives. We will continue to make mistakes but it is important to acknowledge them, learn what we can, and move forward with increased confidence that we are better as a result.
Retirement really is a New Beginning for us…
The best happy retirement wishes we can give ourselves is to spend some quality time determining what we most want to do with our lives based on our passions, goals, and inner purpose and drive. This spark of Inner Genius does not disappear because we pull the retirement card.
It merely opens us new opportunities to pursue while enjoying the additional time we have to relax and enjoy. If procrastinating is a challenge check my Guide on Getting Stuff Done to readjust how we look at things. Also, my free report on Life Balance may be helpful as well.
With enough determination, we will discover the options available that are aligned with our interests and passions. Ideally, happy retirement wishes would also include subjects useful to us throughout our retirement experience such as:
- healthy lifestyle advice about our diet and fitness
- healthy lifestyle ideas that keep us inspired and motivated to stay fully engaged in life
- a healthy lifestyle guide of some sort that indicates positive ways to stay fit and energized
- a healthy eating lifestyle based on natural and organic food sources where we are actually living a healthy lifestyle daily
- ideas concerning retirement management services as needed
- setting up a time blocking worksheet so that we can organize our daily activities most effectively and efficiently so that we get stuff done based on priority
Now, this may seem too structured for our retirement years, but once we have clarity of exactly what our ideal and ultimate retirement lifestyle looks like, we can then plan how to effectively create it. These are the type of happy retirement wishes that make a major impact in our lives as well as all those with whom we come in contact.
I look forward that this brief article may have stimulated a few ideas of what we may want our ideal retirement experience to be. I wish you all the very best in creating that very kind of retirement.
Enjoy the journey,
Joseph William

I never really gave it much thought as a young man on what retirement would look like. But I do feel that boring type of feeling when you have an entire week off, by day 3 I really would start wondering what to do with myself. I agree that having a business would be a good way to have mental clarity, having something to strive for definitely helps, it’s very important to stay productive, and making money always feels good!
Thanks, David. I totally agree.
I agree this stage of life dose not me the end but the start of something great once we plan for it but of some because of the love of the job and need for the money which they did not prepared for this time in their life can become a nightmare therefor it is great to plan for this time of life so when one chapter close a more exciting one starts. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks, Norman. I appreciate your thoughts on this article about retirement. Preparing for a “New Beginning” makes this stage of our lives extremely exciting full of wonder and adventure. All the Best.
