Happy Retirement Poem

Here is a happy retirement poem to reinforce in each of us that retirement is meant to be a peaceful and happy experience no matter when one retires, or whether one chooses an un-retired or semi-retired lifestyle. Happy Retirement Poem

A Happy Retirement Poem from My Heart

Happy Retirement Poem Comes True

Happy or not

Here we come

Here we come

Our Happy Retirement has just Begun

So many years

Have flown on by

Not sure whether to

Celebrate or cry

A New Beginning

Rather than an end

A tremendous opportunity

To set a new trend

A trend of Engagement

Embracing our life

No time for boredom

Or any inner strife

Embracing our passion

Leads us to excel

Leaving no room

For any inhibiting spell

Happy or not

Here we come

Here we come

Our Happy Retirement has just Begun

Brace for the unexpected

With wonder and peace

Each step we take

Our confidence will only increase

Time to reinvent

Certain aspects of our lives

No time to hesitate

When it’s all High Fives

Retired or not

The choice is always ours

We are the creator

Of where our happiness lies

Time to let go

Of any fear or distress

Our retirement dreams

Are meant to impress

Happy or not

Here we come

Here we come

Our Happy Retirement has just Begun

Our retirement plans

Have been previously set

By a part of our Selves

That we have just met

This Self is a stranger

As we merely forgot

That any limitation

Is not part of our plot

Our happy retirement dream

Has come into view

It is now perfectly aligned

And about to come true

Our authentic Self

Is now in control

It’s time to sit back

And go with the Flow

Happy or not

Here we come

Here we come

It’s not only a Happy Retirement Dream

It’s Who we have Become!

Happy Retirement Poem Quotes

I look forward that you enjoyed that poem and took it to heart.

In addition, here are some happy retirement quotes from people down through the ages to mull over, contemplate, and maybe even become a bit inspired as to all the options and possibilities available. Happiness is the key at every stage of life.

Enjoy

“Love yourself for who you are, and trust me, if you are happy from within, you are the most beautiful person, and your smile is your best asset.”       — Ileana D’Cruz —

“One of the best ways to make yourself happy in the present is to recall happy times from the past. Photos are a great memory-prompt, and because we tend to take photos of happy occasions, they weight our memories to the good.”                                                                    — Gretchen Rubin —

“Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.” — Guillaume Apollinaire —

“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.”    — Earl Nightingale —

“Try and leave this world a little better than you found it, and when your turn comes to die, you can die happy in feeling that at any rate, you have not wasted your time but have done your best.”     — Robert Baden-Powell —

“Happiness is an attitude of mind, born of the simple determination to be happy under all outward circumstances.”

– J. Donald Walters —

“I just find myself happy with the simple things. Appreciating the blessings God gave me. – DMX —

Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.”                        — Omar Khayyam —

“Happiness, true happiness, is an inner quality. It is a state of mind. If your mind is at peace, you are happy. If your mind is at peace, but you have nothing else, you can be happy. If you have everything the world can give – pleasure, possessions, power – but lack peace of mind, you can never be happy.”                             — Dada Vaswani —

“I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.”         — Martha Washington —

“Happy is the man who finds a true friend, and far happier is he who finds that true friend in his wife.”

— Franz Schubert —

“Life is like a roller coaster, live it, be happy, enjoy life.”

— Avril Lavigne —

“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”

— Marcel Proust —

“I believe that without memories there is no life, and that our memories should be of happy times.”     — Lee Radziwill —

“Struggle teaches you a lot of things, and I am happy that I witnessed a roller coaster ride. The journey has improved me as a person and made me more mature.”                             — Manoj Bajpayee —

A Happy Retirement Dream is What We Deserve

This stage of life, regardless of age, is no time to slow down in areas of our lives of which we are most passionate. We each are unique and have a specific purpose within, recognized or not, for which we are driven to accomplish.

Our happiness is tied to this purpose. Some have discovered it early in life, while for others it is a more gradual awakening. Becoming conscious and aware of this purpose will contribute to a life full of wonder, mystery, and anxious anticipation of what the new day brings.

It is never too late to identify our purpose and engage in life with new vigor and zest. A little bit of inner reflection and contemplation will do the trick. It is there staring us in the face; we have been merely distracted and focused elsewhere.

As part of my intuitive coaching, I do use intuitive poetry to access parts of the mind that contain valuable information that has merely lied dormant waiting for discovery. It is an interesting vehicle to use to access those stubborn parts of ourselves.

I look forward that this happy retirement poem inspires all to move forward with confidence and with the inner knowing that all is good and that we are all cared for by a loving Universe. Many happy retirement wishes to all.

May you engage with your very own poetry within,

Joseph William

  1. Very beautiful poem. I will be sure to bookmark it and use it the day my parents decide to retire. They are approaching the retirement age so this will be the perfect way to send them off. It is also very well-written. Thank you so much for this wonderful article.

  2. Yes if we live long enough those golden years will come so we should do what we can now so when those golden years finally arrive we will be happy as one chapter closes in our lives and a new one opens that’s bright and shiny. Let’s prepare for this time of life.
