As we move from illusion to light we not only see with “new eyes”, but we regain what we lost. Our birthright resides within our “Vision of Truth”.
We begin to remember Who We Really Are and celebrate the moment for no other reason than it exists. As we appreciate more and more all that we have at this moment, we release much of our old programming and conditioning.
From Illusion to Light — A New Paradigm of Life
“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.”
As we begin to awaken from our dream of perception, we are able to see much more clearly. It’s not so much about what is “out there”, but more importantly what is “in here”.
At some point, we come to the realization that the outside world is merely a reflection of our thoughts and perceptions. These thoughts and perceptions are based on our beliefs.
We have been programmed over the years from numerous sources and have buried what we really believe about ourselves, others, and the world. Many of these beliefs were formed as defense mechanisms to avoid further pain and trauma.
That is why we may intellectually understand something but still feel stuck because we are not experiencing the truth of that understanding. Our prior programming is doing its thing under the surface.
But the good news is that we can change our programming by changing our minds. It takes a bit of time and effort but it is worth it. We cannot put a value on peace of mind as it is invaluable.
In order to regain our peaceful state it is essential to do some housecleaning. Our perfection resides within and has never left; we have just put a few roadblocks in the way.
Here’s a Few Helpful Hints:
“A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.”
- truly recognize what is true is true and what is false is false (this requires a bit of reflection and contemplation as we much too easily take this for granted)
- what we think we know isn’t necessarily true
- even though our beliefs create an illusionary world it is a world that we see and believe in
- becoming the Observer of our life requires diligence and persistence but will reveal much that we overlook daily
- remind ourselves often to stay in the “Now” by asking ourselves, “Am I present now?”
- keep a journal of our thoughts and feelings
- remind ourselves that we are NOT our thoughts and feelings
- as our beliefs emerge and come into view replace the ones that no longer serve us well
- begin to create a new paradigm based on our eternal goodness and perfection
We all make mistakes but they are gifts showing us our errors so that they can be corrected. Although our actions are not perfect, our essence within is.
From Illusion to Light — The Waking Up Process
“That is the real spiritual awakening, when something emerges from within you that is deeper than who you thought you were. So, the person is still there, but one could almost say that something more powerful shines through the person.”
Transitioning from illusion to light requires an awakening to our true selves. This is not always easy.
Since we are convinced that we know what we know, see what we see, and hear what we hear, it becomes quite a challenge to turn around our upside-down thinking. This is especially challenging when our proof is right in front of us.
This is an example of the Power of Belief. Many processes prove this when we look at an image and miss the obvious and see what we are programmed to see. The psychological Rorschach Test is used to determine a person’s perceptions.
So, the waking up process of our journey of waking up from illusion to light requires a little bit of willingness to at least allow for the possibility that what we see in this world is a projection of our thoughts generated by our beliefs. With this willingness, we can begin our journey.
The Dilemma
“The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.”
The major stumbling block is that it seems totally insane to think that what we see is not real and what we don’t see is our true reality. No amount of intellectual warfare will bring us to a satisfactory conclusion.
This is something we must question. We do that by digging deep and questioning everything about ourselves, our thoughts about others, and how we view the world.
Let’s give a few examples.
- Am I really this body that I drag around each day?
- If not, then Who am I really?
- What do I believe about myself, others, and the world?
- Why am I feeling this way?
- Do I live in a safe universe?
- Am I happy with the results I am getting?
- Do I realize I am not my thoughts and emotions?
These are just a few questions from which to get started. Eventually, we will get a few “ha ha” moments and realize how powerful our beliefs are.
We can then make some constructive changes on a conscious level.
From a neuroscience point of view we begin to understand how our beliefs create our thoughts that instruct our brains to send messages to our cells within our body. This is how our emotions and feelings are generated and we can at times feel we are in an “emotional straitjacket”.
Also, our genetic makeup, whatever it is, can get triggered by these beliefs that are trying to protect and defend us against further pain and trauma. Ironically, they do just the opposite.
Just because we have genetic tendencies toward this or that does not mean we have to experience those consequences. We are in charge not our genetics.
We can go really deep here, but I just wanted to provide the foundation to begin contemplating on this. Time spent exploring our inner nature is very rewarding and illuminating.
It’s always a choice between Love and Fear.
From Illusion to Light — A New Beginning
“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.”
Every day is a new beginning but we need to stay conscious and present long enough to realize this, and then create anew. It is no secret that there are areas of our lives that are less desirable than we want them to be.
All of our creative power is available to be directed as we desire. When undesirable conditions occur that merely means that our default programming is in error.
The good news is that we can redirect this energy into new patterns of creation. It just requires us to let go of the old and bring in the new.
The reason we experience so much resistance is because of all the guilt we have accumulated over the years regardless if we realize it is there or not. The key to our transformation is forgiveness.
When we forgive ourselves for all we think we have done or not done, we are positioned to let go of all judgments and grievances toward ourselves and others. Then the brilliance of the Light within ourselves will shine through.
This is truly of new beginning for us. No matter what our current circumstances are, we have to power within to overcome them.
Please take this to heart because we are all capable of creating a paradigm based on truth and removing the old conditioning that does not serve us. Each step in the process is important, and it all starts with the very first step toward the Light.
In Peace and Love within the Light,
Joseph William

keep a journal of our thoughts and feelings and then taking the time to review them weekly is the key to remembering who you really are. I have known and read many stories about successful individuals that had one thing in common – JOURNALING! It keeps you on track to achieve the goals you set for yourself. Thank you for this post.
Thanks, Walter. Appreciate your thoughts.
Hi Joseph,
This is such an inspirational article, especially when quoting inspirational people apart from yourself of course Joseph 😉
I love to use my own blog to help others, but it is also a place for me to write down what is happening in my own life. A chance for me to observe what is going on, and what I want to see in the future for myself and others.
Sometimes it makes me really happy, and sometimes it is challenging for me because I might not think I am on the right path.
It’s great when I come across articles like yours though because it reassures me that what I am doing and writing about is the right path.
Thank you for sharing and keep up the amazing work.
All the best,
Tom
Thanks so much, Tom. Your thoughts and comments are much appreciated. Best, Joseph
