Poetic Justice Meaning Not Really Apparent

Poetic justice meaning a reward/punishment scenario is far too simplistic a version. There is a much deeper meaning to be explored.Poetic Justice Meaning

Poetic justice far surpasses good deeds being rewarded and bad deeds being punished. Its true meaning reveals aspects about ourselves long forgotten but never lost. Let’s explore this a bit.

“Fables should be taught as fables, myths as myths, and miracles as poetic fantasies. To teach superstitions as truths is a most terrible thing. The child mind accepts and believes them, and only through great pain and perhaps tragedy can he be in after years relieved of them.”

Poetic Justice Meaning Self Knowledge and So Much More

Many stories and films portray the hero and villain as part of the traditional poetic justice scenario. I suggest we go much deeper into a rabbit hole very few even realize exists.

It is only poetic justice when we are true to ourselves regardless of appearance and the events in our lives. We create poetic justice by being true to ourselves.

The justice system in society is based on human flaws and weaknesses that are easily manipulated as is evident today as well as throughout history. True justice can only be attained when we live by our true values regardless of circumstances.

When we do this we are pleasantly surprised by how things naturally fall into place. This does not mean there are no challenges, as quite often we are faced with much resistance by refusing to back down on our principles.

When we live authentically we create a strong foundation for ourselves to obtain the self-knowledge that we need to deal with our circumstances in creative ways. We become an unstoppable force affecting the lives of many in positive ways.

Learning to Trust Ourselves

It is poetic justice when we trust ourselves enough to live our lives based on our true values and avoid the many distractions that attempt to divert our focus. We are then able to make decisions on a consistent basis that leads to us attaining goals that actually mean something to us by increasing our awareness of our self-worth.

Although we may state that we crave our independence and do not care what people think, but by observing our decisions and actions we often find this not to be the case. We have become programmed to “follow the herd”. It’s about time to break free and experience true poetic justice.

Poetic Justice Meaning Clarified

Beyond rewarding the virtuous and punishing the wrongdoers, poetic justice creates a platform for us to express ourselves in ways that are not hampered by fear. This allows us to not only be the person we were meant to be, but also to release much stress and anxiety created by pretending.

Also the seeming virtuous don’t necessarily always deserve to be rewarded when that virtue is not based on truth. Many times we may pretend to be virtuous out of fear of negative consequences. At this point, we are not being true to ourselves.

Poetic justice means not lying to ourselves about how we are really feeling.

Also, apparent misdeeds may not be what they seem to be when the actual circumstances are revealed. What appears on the surface is not always the case.

The bottom line here is that when we are true to ourselves we are aware of our inner motivations, and we then make choices and take action based on integrity. This is the true form of poetic justice.

It’s poetic justice when we stand for what we know in our hearts is correct despite the opposition and consequences. Courage, integrity, and honesty are at the core of poetic justice.

It’s time to set ourselves free. Far too long have we danced to a tune that is not our own, and even worse that we do not like.

When we are aligned with our true mission in life we attain a cosmic balance that is reflected in all areas of our lives. We set the stage for our very own unique talents and abilities to be expressed to their fullest capacities.

We dance with the Universe, and all our efforts and actions take on a playful child-like quality where we cherish each precious moment. This enables us to focus on the important aspects of our lives with a newness and fresh approach to getting stuff done.

We are no longer concerned with competition and looking over our shoulders to see who might slip by us. Instead, we cooperate with life and take our Marching Orders from the genius part of ourselves within.

Success takes on a broader and more meaningful scope for us as we only follow our heartfelt desires with the intention of serving others and sharing what we have learned.

True poetic justice kicks in when we are no longer addicted to all of the symbols of success as we progress in much more meaningful ways.

As we triumph in different areas we are not concerned about leaving others behind, but we extend a helping hand and bring them along. They then are empowered to create their very own version of poetic justice.

Harmony is attained in this type of scenario as all ideas of grandiosity and false pride fall by the wayside and we are engulfed by feelings of empathy, humility, and joy. Light has ascended to brighten the landscape of many whom we are honored to meet.

Stories, myths, and lore all tell tales of adventures that lead to the overcoming of chaos and the bringing in of a more enlightened sense of order and justice. Balance is restored within ourselves and quickly extends to all with whom we meet and interact.

Poetic justice is all about living our lives in an authentic way based on the truth within ourselves. We then can not only sow our just reward but extend grace, love, and care to our fellow travelers on this most fascinating journey that we have undertaken.

The poetry of justice will not be denied.

With much Peace & Love within the Light,

  1. Thank you for this interesting article discussing the nature and actual meaning of the term poetic justice Joseph. I appreciate the thorough way that you have taken a look at the phrase and discerned whether we are typically seeing these scenarios as truly being poetic or just applying the phrase inappropriately toward situations where we think the shoe fits. It kind of reminds me of our colloquial missuse of the term ironic to the point that the term is no longer even seen to mean what it originally described.

I am not sure that I agree with your definition of poetic justice as being true to ourselves but I am thankful for the experience of reading the article and thank you for it.
