How To Discover Your Purpose Driven Life

Discover your purpose driven life effortlessly. It is not really hard at all, and the benefits are enormous.

It is easy to get distracted by all the glamour and success portrayed by all the ads about what we need to be happy and fulfilled. Well, let’s bypass all that noise and concentrate on what is truly meaningful to ourselves based on some very fundamental principles of life.

Discover Your Purpose Driven Life with a Bit of Self-Awareness

Discover Your Purpose Driven Life

“Every human has four endowments – self awareness, conscience, independent will and creative imagination. These give us the ultimate human freedom… The power to choose, to respond, to change.” — Steven Covey —

Getting to know ourselves is vital to discovering our purpose and translating that purpose into a life worth living. But how do we do that when our minds are split between illusion and truth?

When we give validity to illusion, our perception is misdirected. We project what we believe to be true and provide witnesses to validate our misperceptions.

Getting to know ourselves involves becoming aware of how we think as a result of our current paradigm or belief system. It then involves doing some housecleaning and moving things around a bit.

So, how do we gain this increased self-awareness? By being “willing” to look at our fears that keep our misperceptions in place.

When we confront our fears they lose their power over us. We are more afraid of certainty than uncertainty.

Accepting the truth of our current situation is the ticket to setting ourselves free. We have the power to decide.

Gaining the Needed Mental Clarity to Proceed

“There will always be obstacles and challenges that stand in your way. Building mental strength will help you develop resilience to those potential hazards so you can continue on your journey to success.— Amy Morin —

Being caught up in a web of confusion keeps us stuck. We have used our current belief system to protect ourselves from the pain that we previously experienced.

We must decide if we truly want to break free and live authentically. Consciously we say yes, but subconsciously we are terrified.

Only after we gain the needed clarity can we discover our life purpose. Then we are positioned to fulfill our very important mission in life.

Discover Your Purpose Driven Life Waiting for You to Show Up

“I truly believe that everything that we do and everyone that we meet is put in our path for a purpose. There are no accidents; we’re all teachers – if we’re willing to pay attention to the lessons we learn, trust our positive instincts and not be afraid to take risks or wait for some miracle to come knocking at our door.” — Marla Gibbs —

With the needed clarity we have a clear vision of our purpose which was there all the time waiting for us to show up and get things rolling. The light within us is always shining regardless of how much cloud cover we put in its way.

Let’s now review a few ways to dissolve the cloud cover and allow the light of our divine purpose to shine through. Once we rid ourselves of needless baggage the path naturally presents itself to us.

A Few Simple Ideas to Pave the Way to Freedom

“That’s been one of my mantras – focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.” — Steve Jobs —

Let’s begin:

  • recognize that not all of our beliefs are true regardless of all the so-called evidence
  • spend time daily observing our thoughts and feelings. These will lead to underlying beliefs that are not buried but remain unaware.
  • once these beliefs have been identified and acknowledged write them down and review them until we understand that they are responsible for our results.
  • challenge these beliefs by questioning their usefulness and validity by negating any false evidence and discovering evidence that supports the truth
  • find and hang with people who support these empowering beliefs about ourselves instead of folks hypnotized by limiting beliefs
  • use visualizations and positive affirmations to replace limiting beliefs
  • align our goals with these empowering beliefs
  • take consistent action toward your goals and discover your purpose driven life
  • observe as small successes provide proof and witnesses for our new empowering beliefs

Discover Your Purpose Driven Life and Create a New Paradigm of Success

Discover Your Purpose Driven Life

“Paradigms are like glasses. When you have incomplete paradigms about yourself or life in general, it’s like wearing glasses with the wrong prescription. That lens affects how you see everything else.” — Sean Covey —

When driven by a strong purpose we empower ourselves to eliminate all past programming that does not serve our purpose and allows us to create a new paradigm based on truth. We then naturally follow our intuitive urges that flawlessly guide the way.

Some Examples of a Purpose Driven Life

“The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others.”

— Albert Schweitzer —

Let’s review some examples of how to express and live a purpose-driven life. Discover your purpose driven life now.

We each express our unique purpose in different ways in providing support and assistance to others. This may involve social causes, creating a purpose-driven business, developing our strengths and character to a greater degree, or helping those in need.

Living an authentic and purpose driven life enhances our resilience, increases our motivation, and keeps us focused on what really matters in life beyond money and fame. It positions us to be of benefit to the world.

Our lives become much more simple with greater meaning and focus. This increases our overall health and happiness.

There are so many examples of people over the years who have lived a life filled with purpose and meaning. One person who comes immediately to mind is Helen Keller. A person who was both deaf and blind lived such a meaningful existence. As an educator and author, she was an inspiration to so many.

Her work continues today with Helen Keller International which supports millions of children and families worldwide.

Another person, although not well known, who had a tremendous effect in inspiring others to find peace and comfort was Mildred Lisette Norman, also known as the “Peace Pilgrim”. For information about this remarkable woman go to the Peace Pilgrim website.

There are so many other examples of people who have made a tremendous positive difference by discovering and living a life driven by purpose. I encourage us all to do the same.

In Peace and Love within the Light,

    • Thanks, John, for your wonderful insights and comments. Patience and commitment are needed to look within ourselves to discover what our mission in life really is. As Richard Bach put so beautifully in his book, “Illusions”, “Believe you know all the answers, and you know all the answers. Believe you’re a master, and you are. This is a test to see if your mission in this life is complete, if you are alive, it isn’t.”
