End Procrastination Forever

I am sure that most folks would be extremely happy to end procrastination forever. Getting Stuff Done on a consistent basis is extremely helpful.End Procrastination Forever

But one thing to keep in mind is that it is only beneficial when the stuff is what we really want and desire. Just doing things to keep busy is not what we are talking about.

End Procrastination Forever — The Efficient Way

The common definition of procrastination is that we put off, delay, and just don’t do stuff regardless of its importance or consequences.

Now, why would we want to ever do that? We can read a number of books or attend numerous workshops on this subject and get a number of different reasons as well as different approaches to resolving this challenge.

In order to end procrastination forever and be a bit more efficient about it requires us to get to its cause, and not mess around with its symptoms which only act as reminders that this is an issue.

As in most if not all mental and emotional challenges fear is the activating agent.

Let’s now see how we can creatively address this most annoying aspect that keeps us stuck from living a fully activated and dynamic life based on fulfilling our true desires.

To Fear or Not to Fear — That is the Question

“It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll

I am the master of my fate,

I am the captain of my soul”

— William Ernest Henley —

This English poet had it going on in terms of getting to the essence of the solution to fear and all its nagging results and symptoms. This stanza is from his poem “Invictus”.

Victim or creator is the real question.

When we accept “total” responsibility for everything in our lives things take on a much different complexion. Our perception changes and we see things much differently.

As a result, we respond more than merely react to people and circumstances which empowers us to deal with issues and challenges directly.

The efficient way to end procrastination forever is to lose the fear and embrace the uncertainty. When we do we are in for a pleasant surprise; things are not as uncertain as we may have previously thought.

End Procrastination Forever Now rather than Later

Let’s not add fuel to the fire by procrastinating and putting off dealing with our procrastination issues.

Now is always the time to get stuff done because it is always now.

When we want to really get something done we always find a way. It is just that a lot of time we wait so long that what was originally a much easier task has now turned into an emergency with all of the stress and anxiety that goes along with it.

Let’s decide right this moment to take a different approach. Let’s concentrate on the solution and not mess around with all the possible reasons.

It doesn’t really matter if we don’t know how to do something, we feel depressed, or we are just waiting for the “right” time to get started. Those are all delay tactics that surface from the underlying cause which we already identified as fear.

It’s Okay to be AfraidEnd Procrastination Forever

We don’t need to beat ourselves up for not getting stuff done. It is just important to accept our current feelings so that we now have something to work with.

We are about to transform that fear energy into productive energy to be used to accomplish what we want and desire.

When we pretend that we are not afraid when we are, we tend to compensate and act in silly ways. And those silly ways are all Fear-Based.

So when I say it’s okay to be afraid, I do not mean we are not going to deal with it. We are going to use that same energy creatively to get stuff done.

A Few Simple Steps to End Procrastination Forever

Simplicity, rather than complexity, is always the preferred route to our destination. When we learn to let go of our fear-based baggage, we not only live a simple life but we are empowered to create that life by design rather than by default.

Here are a few ideas on how we can make that happen in an efficient and effective way.

1) Acknowledge ourselves for all we have done to get to this point in our lives. All of our successes and failures have worked together to get us here. Now we can honestly assess where we are.

2) Determine exactly where we desire to go and what we desire to accomplish. Spend as much time as necessary to get this right because this desire is the fuel that will power our journey.

3) Make a conscious decision to make the appropriate and desired changes.

4) Set up a plan of action.

5) Take the first step to break the inertia and get the ball rolling.

6) Rinse and repeat this process for every task or goal no matter how large or small.

That’s it! It is all based on wanting/desiring the end result to such a degree that we do what needs to be done in an efficient and effective way even when we do not feel like doing it.

Initially, in order to get this process started, It helps tremendously to break the first few steps down as small as needed. Whatever we need to do to get into action because each step will naturally lead to the next, and we deal with any resistance along the way.

As new habits develop through our consistent effort, we increase our inner strength and drive as we transfer the energy from the resistance into energy that propels our efforts toward our desired destination.

We are developing a new and powerful mindset that transfers to all areas of our lives.

End Procrastination Forever — It’s Who We’ve Become

It’s not only about getting stuff done, but it is mostly about re-discovering who we really are. That in itself takes care of everything else.

When we are operating from the truth about ourselves we are much more easily able to prioritize and concentrate on what is most important to accomplish at every point in time.

We no longer spend time on tasks to keep busy but only focus on what we really want to get done and what is most important to us. This makes getting things done a much more natural process.

So, to sum things up let’s get clarity on the outcome we most desire, and then any task can get done effectively and efficiently by breaking the process down to the smallest step necessary to get started.

Once the inertia is broken momentum will be generated as a result of consistent action with a series of small and manageable steps.

I look forward to us not only getting a lot more stuff done but that we embrace the uncertainty so that we enjoy the process and are empowered by who we’ve become as a result.

Have fun and enjoy!
